Heroes grow up — but legends never fade.
Decades after the summer of ’62, the boys from the sandlot are all grown up — but the memories of that perfect season still echo across the dusty diamond where it all began. The Sandlot 2 reunites the original gang in a heartfelt and funny new chapter about friendship, family, and passing the torch to a new generation.
When Scotty Smalls (Tom Guiry) — now a beloved sports broadcaster — returns to his old hometown to cover a youth baseball tournament, he’s flooded with nostalgia for the days of wild home runs, endless adventures, and “The Beast” lurking beyond the fence. Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez (Mike Vitar), now a community coach teaching kids the love of the game, recruits Smalls and the rest of the original crew for one final summer on the field — this time as mentors to a new group of scrappy kids who remind them of exactly who they used to be.

But the magic of the sandlot isn’t just about baseball — it’s about belonging. As the town faces the threat of their beloved field being torn down to make way for new development, the old team rallies the neighborhood for an epic comeback — a hilarious, heartfelt stand to save the place where dreams, friendships, and legends were born.

Patrick Renna returns as Ham Porter, still loud, lovable, and full of outrageous one-liners. Chauncey Leopardi’s Squints now owns the local diner (and still tells the same story about Wendy Peffercorn), while Brandon Quintin Adams and Marty York bring back the energy, mischief, and loyalty that made the sandlot unforgettable. And of course, James Earl Jones’s iconic voice returns as Mr. Mertle — the keeper of the game’s spirit — guiding the next generation with his timeless wisdom.

With sun-soaked cinematography, nostalgic callbacks, and a brand-new soundtrack mixing old-school soul with modern summer vibes, The Sandlot 2 captures the magic of growing up, growing older, and realizing that some friendships — and some fields — are forever.
Funny, touching, and full of heart, The Sandlot 2 isn’t just a sequel — it’s a love letter to childhood, baseball, and the beautiful truth that even when life moves on, the legend of the sandlot lives forever.
