Call the Midwife fans, get ready—the universe is expanding like never before! 💐

The BBC has just confirmed that season 15 of the show is in production, a first spinoff series, and a feature film are also in development—a historic turn for the show that has captured the hearts of viewers for over a decade.

🌟 The anticipated prequel:
Slated to air in 2026, the prequel series will take viewers back to World War II, to the Poplar area, where Nonnatus House began its journey during the brutal days of the Blitz. Viewers will get to see the first nuns enter the path of medicine and compassion, during a time of great peril and hope.

🎬 Upcoming Movie:
No release date has been announced yet, but the film will take the iconic Call the Midwife characters out of the Poplar neighborhood and into a new overseas adventure set in 1972. It’s expected to be a touching, nostalgic installment that both maintains its deeply humanistic spirit and opens a new chapter for its beloved characters.

Writer and creator Heidi Thomas shares:

“Opening new doors at Nonnatus House feels deeply emotional, like a right and necessary move.”

From its touching birth stories to its humane messages about humanity, Call the Midwife is more than just a television series—it’s a collective memory, a tribute to the silent women who have dedicated their lives to the community.

📺 Call the Midwife has made us laugh, cry, and grow through each season—and the journey isn’t over yet. There’s more to come.
